Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute
Swiss TPH is an independent Institution, associated with the University of Basel, and the largest Swiss academic epidemiology institution. The research activities of the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (160 staff) focus on the distribution and interrelationship of diseases, environmental, ecological, social, gender and molecular risk factors, and the effectiveness of interventions. Research activities integrate development and application of advanced epidemiological, bio-statistical and Modeling methods. Swiss TPH has become a world-renowned Institution for teaching, research and services in the field of International Health Development.
The multi- and cross-disciplinary activities and experience of scientific laboratory studies, conceptual clinical work and practical transfer of technical expertise to health system planning and programmes in local, national and partner countries are the building blocks of their success.
Role in the project
The Swiss TPH team coordinates WP2 (Data harmonization, processing and integration) and assure provision of harmonized data on exposures, confounders, effects modifiers and health outcomes from experimental and observational studies. It also contributes to the project with the SAPALDIA cohort.
