"The main project I am working on at the moment is regarding Exposomics, derived from an idea that was launched years ago by the Director of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), Dr. Christopher Wild. The idea is that we have put a lot of energy, resources and funding on research into the genome such as Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) but not much has come out of that in terms of realistic perspectives to tackle disease. For example, we are seeing an epidemic of cancer in developing countries: not much is being done about it and genetics won’t explain or solve the problem.
