Systems perspectives of the EXPOSOME - Prof. Paolo Vineis interview at IARC 50th Anniversary Conference

Prof. Vineis discusses with ECANCERTV at the IARC 50th Anniversary Conference how the concept of exposome was developed by Chris Wild, IARC Director, who raised the issue that it is likely that most cancers come from environmental exposures and not from enherited changes in our DNA. The EXPOsOMICS project investigates the impact of air pollution on cancer incidence. Prof. Vineis mentions in the interview that there is a lot more work that can be done on other exposures such as diet, which can help answer with greater accuracy some open questions, such as what are the dietary constituents that can increase the risk of cancer or protect us from cancer?
